About Savanna
Savanna Cement comes from the Savanna Diamond plant at Buipe in the Savannah Region, part of the same Diamond Cement group as the Aflao and Takoradi works. It matters for one structural reason: Buipe is Ghana's main integrated plant, grinding cement from limestone mined locally rather than from imported clinker like almost every other producer. That gives it, in principle, a little more insulation from the cedi — though in practice it still prices with the market. Historically it served the north, but it is sold across Greater Accra too, around ₵104 a bag, in the mid-value band. For a given grade it meets the same strength standard as any major, so it competes on price and availability. As with every brand here, the bag price moves with the cedi and with fuel — Buipe to Accra is a long haul — so confirm at the yard before you buy.
